Problem:
On a newly installed LEF Series system, pressing the call button at the door causes a chime at the answering station, but there is no communication going either way. Or, communication occurs, but no chime when the call button is pressed.
Cause:
Only two wires were run between the door and answering station. All three terminals are needed for full functionality.
Solution:
- Run three wires between the door and answering station. This is the preferred method.
- Add a jumper cable between E and - on the door and answering station. This solution only works for systems with a single answering station. A jumper in installed between these terminals by default. On LE-SS-1G, LE-SS/A, LE-SSR, and LS-NVP/C door stations that using colored wires, jumper the applicable wires together.
