Problem:
An entrance station calls multiple apartments at the same time.
Cause:
This typically happens when handshake programming was used and a mistake was made.
Solution:
The programming for the problem call button or entry will need to be cleared out and redone. This will not affect properly working call behavior. Note that this process will require access to the interior of the entrance station or the programming code for the station, depending on the model.
Procedure:
Note: These procedures are only for systems programmed via handshake. For systems using dip switch settings, instead verify the dip switch settings on the affected tenant stations, and for the entrance in the GT Setup Tool.
- Put the Entrance into Programming Mode.
- For entrances that have a digital directly, scroll through the resident listings and with the green bell button, press and hold (for about 6 seconds) on the resident listing that’s calling multiple tenants. Let go when a long audible tone sounds.
For entrance stations with individual call buttons, press and hold on the problem button. - Press the talk button or pick up the handset (as appropriate) on the tenant station. This will establish two way communication.
- On the tenant station that is being reprogrammed, press and hold the key and bell icon buttons for about 10 seconds. On some stations, a long tone will sound. Otherwise, release after 10 seconds.
- For entrances that have a digital directory, scroll through the resident listing and with the green bell button, give a brief press on the appropriate listing. There will be a short audible tone.
For entrance stations with individual call buttons, briefly tap the desired call button.- NOTE: If a longer tone sounds during programming and the call fails, the button was held for too long and the handshake was deleted. Repeat the steps with a briefer press.
